GAO / WORKING TOGETHER

Common Questions

Practical information about development, production and working with a China-side knitwear partner.

Are you a factory?

No. GAO Knitwear is an independent knitwear production partner based in China. We coordinate a network of specialized manufacturing partners and support brands throughout product development, sampling and bulk production.

What should I send for a quotation?

A tech pack is ideal, but a sketch, reference image or existing sample can also be a starting point. If available, please include the estimated quantity, target composition, size range and delivery requirements. We will review the information and advise on the next steps.

How long does sampling take?

For basic styles, sampling can take approximately five days once the required yarn is available. Styles involving printing, embroidery or specialized techniques may require additional time. We confirm the expected timeline after reviewing the project details.

What is your bulk production lead time?

For basic styles, bulk production typically takes around 25–30 days after the required approvals and production arrangements are completed. Styles involving printing, embroidery or other additional processes may require a further 12–15 days, depending on the specific requirements.

We coordinate size-set or pre-production sample approvals before bulk production begins, as agreed for each project.

Can you support private-label production?

Yes. We can coordinate private-label requirements, including brand labels, care labels, trims and packaging, subject to the product specifications and the capabilities of the selected production partner.

Do you provide quality control?

Yes. We coordinate quality control according to the agreed project requirements. This may include measurement checks, appearance and workmanship inspections, production-stage checks, issue photos and inspection records.

The exact QC scope and inspection checkpoints are agreed in advance based on the product, order size and client requirements.

Is this just a fee for introducing a factory?

No. GAO Knitwear provides ongoing production support beyond factory introductions. Depending on the agreed scope, our work can include supplier evaluation, costing, factory communication, yarn and trim coordination, sample development, revisions, production follow-up and quality coordination.

Our service fees are separate from factory production costs, with the scope and fees agreed before work begins.
